Our promise
Your words stay yours
The short version
- Each answer fades after 30 days, unless the person who wrote it keeps it.
- We never sell your data to anyone, ever. No ads. No trackers.
- Only the person you share a flower with sees your answers.
- Notifications and emails are your choice, and never carry your questions or answers.
- Delete your account and everything goes with it, right away.
What we collect
- Your account: your first name and email, so you can sign in. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple gives us your email (or a private relay address) and a token we keep only so that deleting your account can disconnect it from Apple.
- Your answers: what you type, and the voice notes and photos you add. Photos are made smaller on your phone first, which also removes location data.
- What you send back: the stamps and short notes you send back and the questions you ask stay with the answer they belong to, and fade and delete with it.
- Your hello: the voice note or note you leave for someone you invite is a page of its own. It fades after 30 days, unless you tick Keep this hello.
- Game progress: petals, weeks you played and how many things you’ve learned. These are counts, not the words of your answers.
- For notifications, if you allow them in the app: the address Apple gives your iPhone for notifications, and your phone’s time zone, so nothing arrives in your quiet hours and an evening reminder comes at the hour you pick.
- For emails, if you ask for them: if you play from a link, the email address you type and your phone’s time zone (for quiet hours), used only for emails about that flower. Accounts get emails at the address they sign in with, and only when they turn them on. Changing these settings, on the web or in the app, saves your phone’s time zone too, for quiet hours.
- Blocks: if you block someone, which account you blocked. Nothing else.
How long we keep it
- Answers, and the guesses made on them, are deleted 30 days after they’re given.
- Each person chooses for their own answers: Let them fade, Keep my stories (life stories, heartfelt questions you open rather than guess, Words to keep, and questions asked about them, but never the monthly check-ins), or Keep everything. You can also keep single pages. Only the person who wrote an answer can keep it. A kept page stays until its writer stops keeping it (that starts a new 30-day fade), leaves the flower, or deletes their account. A guest’s pages also go if the person who invited them leaves the flower or deletes their account.
- Leaving a flower deletes your answers and guesses in it right away. Deleting your account deletes everything.
- Guests who answer through a link follow the same rules, decide for their own answers, and can stop playing and delete their answers at any time.
- An iPhone’s notification address is deleted when you sign out on that iPhone, when you delete your account, and when Apple says it no longer works.
- An email address given on a link is deleted when you stop the emails, stop playing, make an account, or when the link goes unused for 60 days. An address nobody confirms within 7 days is deleted then, in case it was typed wrong.
- We note which notifications and emails went out (the flower, what kind and when, never what was said) for 14 days, so nobody gets the same one twice.
- When a guest link stops working, we keep a scrambled fingerprint of it (never the link itself), the reason, and which flower it was for while that flower exists, for 60 days, so the old link can say what happened.
Who sees it
Only the other person in that flower. A guest link works for whoever has it, and your hello plays from it even before they start, so send it only to the person it’s for.
If someone reports an answer, a note, a reply or a hello, a person on our team may look at that one item, only while it still exists, to keep LoveBlossom safe. Only a few named people can, and every look is written down. They can remove it for everyone. The person who shared it is told that something was removed after a report, never who reported it.
Notifications and emails (optional)
Notifications in the app, and emails for guests and anyone on the web, come at most once a day and say only who did what, like “Sam guessed your bouquet”. Never a question, an answer, a note or a hello. You can mute one flower from its page, or turn them off in Settings. Every email has a one-tap stop.
Notifications go from our server through Apple’s push service to your iPhone; the page itself never talks to Apple. Emails go from our server through Amazon SES, Amazon’s email service. Each one receives only what it needs to deliver the message: the iPhone’s address or the email address, and the message itself.
On your phone
- Read it to me uses your phone’s own voices and sends nothing anywhere.
- Your own text size and comfort choices stay on your phone. Presets someone picks for you when they invite you are saved with the invite, and come with you if you make an account.
- Fonts and pictures come from our own server.
- Cookies only keep you signed in, remember this iPhone for notifications, and, after an age under 13, pause the age question on that phone for a day. None of them track you.
Who helps us run it
The app runs on Amazon Web Services, which also sends our emails (Amazon SES). Our database, sign-in emails and file storage run on Supabase. They hold data for us under contract and can’t use it for anything else. Notifications reach your iPhone through Apple’s push service, only if you allow them. Nothing goes to anyone else unless you turn it on below.
Smart follow-ups (optional)
If you turn this on, we send the question and your answer or guess text to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI, to suggest a follow-up question or to score a guess. We never send your name, photos or voice notes. Typed guesses are scored by AI only when both of you turned it on. You can turn it off anytime: in Settings if you have an account, or on your flower’s page if you play from a link.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data, or share it with data brokers or advertisers.
- Show ads, or put third-party trackers or analytics in the app.
- Use your answers for anything except showing them to the person you chose, your memory book, and the features you turn on.
Printed books (coming later)
If you order a printed keepsake book, we’ll ask you first, every time. The print partner receives only that book, only to print and ship it.
Kids
Accounts and guest answers are for people 13 and older. We ask how old you are and keep only whether you’re 13 or older, never your age. Younger kids can join pass-and-play on a grown-up’s phone, which stores nothing at all.
